Why Study Political Science at Motlow?

Political science focuses on the theory and practice of government and politics at the local, state, national, and international levels. It entails understanding political ideas, ideologies, institutions, policies, processes, and behavior, as well as groups, classes, government, diplomacy, law, strategy, and war.

A background in political science is valuable for citizenship and political action, as well as for future careers in government, law, business, media, or public service.

Motlow students can obtain either an Associate of Arts (A.A.) or an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. This is a Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP) degree. TTPs enable you to complete your degree at Motlow and then seamlessly transfer to any Tennessee public, and many private, universities to complete your bachelor’s degree.

Regardless of the career you eventually pursue, a political science degree helps you be an informed, engaged citizen of your community.
