First Responder

Respond to emergencies and save lives.
Earn $30k–65k per year and be in high demand.

Work in emergency rooms, as a firefighter, on an ambulance, or even as a flight paramedic.

Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) save lives and make critical decisions by responding to emergency medical calls. This is a fast-paced, high-energy program and we expect you to utilize those characteristics when you exit the program. EMS graduates are detail-oriented, empathetic, compassionate, systematic, and can be authoritative and directive.

Motlow has a wide variety of options for first responder jobs in high demand. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT) are first responders. EMT graduates traditionally proceed to the AEMT certificate. Many then advance to become Paramedics.

EMT and AEMT students can complete a program in one semester each, while Paramedic students can complete a program in three semesters. EMS graduates are eligible to sit for their National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) cognitive and psychomotor examinations. Successful completion of these exams is recognized by the TN Division of Emergency Medical Services for State Licensure. Both EMT and AEMT have many hours of Lab as well as Clinical experience obtained in the field with currently licensed EMTs and Paramedics.

Certificates are programs of study that vary in length and prepare you for occupational employment.
