CIVIL ENGINEERING CONCENTRATION

Would you like to design and construct the infrastructure of America? Civil engineers create everything from roads, tunnels and bridges, to airports and dams. Motlow's Civil Engineering concentration teaches skills in decision making, leadership, math problem solving, and organization. This set of courses is a Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP), and is designed for students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution.

To become an engineer, you need a bachelor’s degree or above, but you can still find jobs as a civil engineer technician with an associate degree in engineering. Through realistic construction-based group projects, you’ll gain practical experience of applying your engineering judgement and working successfully with others.

Studying civil engineering provides you with a range of technical skills valued by employers in various sectors, including engineering, construction, and property. With a solid grasp of science, mathematics, and technology, you’ll learn to design, create, and build structures efficiently, making the best use of available resources and techniques.
