Motlow State Community College plans to host the 2024 Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) Region VII Basketball Tournament from March 8th through 12th on the Moore County Campus. The tournament will include men's and women's teams from 10 of the 13 community colleges in the state of Tennessee.

Motlow State Community College recently became a Certified Recovery Friendly Campus, meaning that the institution as a whole has pledged to prioritize meeting its student population's behavioral health needs. The certification comes from The Tennessee Collegiate Recovery Initiative (TCRI).
Motlow State Army Veteran Sergeant Adam Creason was recently awarded the Gerald O. Zedlitz and Norma J. Zedlitz Armed Forces Service Award at Motlow State.
The newest Motlow location is continuing to grow and develop new opportunities through the efforts of recruiters and Motlow-Sparta's staff. The site reached its highest enrollment in the Fall of 2023 and has several new programs on the horizon.
