Motlow Holds Graduation Commencement

Motlow State hosts its 2023 Commencement Ceremony Monday, May 8, at 5:30 p.m. at Middle Tennessee University's Murphy Center.

More than 850 students will graduate in Motlow State’s 53rd 2023 graduating class. President Michael L. Torrence will preside over his 6th commencement ceremony at Motlow State and will receive the presentation of candidates for degrees from Dr. Regina Verdin, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Motlow State. This will be Dr. Verdin’s first Motlow graduation ceremony. Recipients of the 2022 faculty excellence award, including adjuncts, will lead Motlow’s Faculty Processional. Announcement of the graduates will be made by Scott Shasteen, who will also lead the alumni pledge. Lauren Clardy, Sharon Edwards, and Leah Seier will lead Motlow's alma mater and perform the National Anthem. Dr. David Bethea, associate professor of music, will direct musical accompaniments.

Dr. Vincent Windrow, educator, strategist, motivational speaker, consultant, pastor, and former Associate Vice Provost for Student Success at MTSU, will deliver the commencement address. Dr. Windrow has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from American Baptist College and a Doctorate of Education from Tennessee State University.

The seating is open. Attendance and parking are free to all. For those who are unable to attend but still wish to watch the graduation, use the link at the top of the Motlow online graduation page to live stream the event: motlow.edu/graduation.

Parking will be available at the Greenland Parking Lot as well as surrounding parking lots.
