“There is a significant need to close equity gaps and create accessibility for females, minorities, and especially minority females to be trained for high-skill, high-wage careers,” said Rich. “We are actively working towards closing these gaps and creating more access throughout our region through Motlow’s Workforce Development Division. We invite employers and those interested in pursuing their career goals to contact us.”

Dr. Joy RichThe article was based on Rich’s recent doctoral research. She received her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of the Cumberlands.

A Motlow apprenticeship is a high-quality career pathway. A student obtains a paid job gaining work experience, related classroom instruction, mentorship, and earns a nationally recognized industry credential. Often, the apprentice is immediately hired into a great job and gains all the experience and training needed to become highly skilled in their desired field. They earn competitive wages at a company they know is committed to their continued success and growth as an individual.
