Motlow President Inducted into tnAchieves Hall of Fame

October 20, 2022

Motlow President Dr. Michael TorrencetnAchieves announced its inaugural class of tnAchieves Mentor Hall of Fame inductees. This recognition celebrates and honors mentors who consistently go above and beyond to support tnAchieves efforts in their communities. Motlow President Dr. Michael Torrence was named one of the program’s inaugural Hall of Fame inductees.

tnAchieves Mentor Hall of Fame inductees include educators, business professionals, and community leaders from across the state. All tnAchieves mentors make an invaluable contribution to the program and local students, whether they have served for one year or 15. The individuals inducted have consistently answered the call to ensure students are successful. The inaugural class supports the bold idea that all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, academic history, or demographics, deserve the opportunity to earn a high-quality credential after high school.

“The work of tnAchieves continues to be an aligning force supporting access and completion across our state. The volunteer system has created a deeper link between communities and their college going groups or varying ages, needs, and interests,” said Torrence. “Our continued focus still invites partnership and collaboration internally and externally. We recognize the impact of regional economic development in the Upper Cumberland and Southern Middle Tennessee. All who volunteer have done so with deliberate intent to support their communities and Tennessee’s workforce. Assisting with widening the workforce ready pipeline is important to our communities and Motlow State Community College.”

“tnAchieves would not be where it is today without the support of these 32 difference makers who believe in the power of education,” said tnAchieves President and CEO Krissy DeAlejandro. “Our inaugural tnAchieves Mentor Hall of Fame class could not be more deserving. Since our inception 15 years ago, these individuals have remained dedicated to students and the economic vitality of our state. On behalf of countless students, I am forever grateful for their continued support.”
